THE HEART and the FEET
We could say that the divine energy that descends from the heavens cleanses and opens the mind, if we receive it properly. It is a beginning. The seed must start in the mind. It must be possible to us. What enters the mind from the heavens unobscured by the ego is possible. It is destiny. The path part of this process of life.
There is a thing of wanting to explode into action, but nothing can come into fruition without us first taking into account the path. The path requires a process of forging. And this is why powerful visions can come and go. How we get caught in our heads. And the longer we get caught in our head to more we can throw off the timing of our path. Readiness is really a readiness to surrender more than it is a readiness to be able to do anything. Why? Because if we are on the proper path life already knows we be able to do whatever it is we need to do. It will give us what we need and it will forge us along the way.
When we do not understand love, perhaps we have felt abandoned, We can skip an important step and this is allowing this wisdom to enter our heart. That is what ignites our path. What creates the energy to guide us on our path. Without the heart, we do not know what we are serving. And to some degree we do not know where we are going or what the home we are trying to create should feel like. This is not something we can wait to find when we get there, although we can energize our heart along the way. Open it slowly as we go.. But if our heart is never nourished along the way, we will struggle to find our home. Home must exist in the heart for it to guide us.
The heart needs nothing. This is the next stop for an aspiring buddha, one who wants to live in love and wisdom. It is not action. It is not next steps. It is opening the heart and resting in the place in which nothing is needed. Our humanness needs things. We need to pay the rent and have some food on the table. But our heart needs nothing in the presence of the divine. And to this we must stay still long enough to receive this gift of unconditional love, even if it seems as if all around us is crashing, or if that love is fighting just find its way into us. We cannot stay still forever, no. But we must allow our selves to receive this gift. It may come and go, and often does, but at least we know. The way forward is never panic. It is following the path. Listening to the heart. If the mind touched by the divine and heart are connected, the path will be correct. What we see and feel will be correct, but the heart must feel complete. full, not desperate or questioning itself.
WHILE IT IS THE HEART THAT IS OUR CAPTAIN, WE NEED OUR FEET TO TAKE US WHERE WE NEED TO GO. THERE IS MUCH THAT TRANSPIRES BETWEEN THE WISDOM IN OUR HEART AND WHAT WE ACTUALLY DO TO ENGAGE THAT WISDOM WITH THE WORLD. THIS IS NOT OUR MASTERS DEGREE IN WISDOM, BT IT IS OUR MASTERS DEGREE IN LIVING. IN BECOMING.>
So the feet we could refer to as our actions. If we see the energy of the heart moving downward to our root, around the pelvis, the energy is settling into a place from where we can take action. This is our relationship with the earth. This is where we often give up the wisdom of our hearts. Suddenly in our pelvic root we start asking ourselves, well first I need this person, or this intimacy or this sense of power, or these things, or I need to be here or there and then we corrupt our wisdom relative to taking action. Of course there is wise way of knowing what we really do need or do not need. Of connections perhaps we do or do to need to make. But desire and trying to make for the past must move aside for wisdom to settle into our root. This is one of our greatest challenges in allowing real love to come into fruition in our lives. Our root, where the earth meets the wisdom of our heart.
Metaphorically speaking, one could say our feet is where we store our fear, or where our fear settles. And where our ill fated desires descend to steer us wrong. But if we can purify our relationship to our root, allow love and wisdom to settle into ur root and then descend our feet become infused with love. Yes, they may still be a little stinky after a long walk, but they are governed by love. This is perhaps the culmination of any Buddha. Anyone embodying the nature of of a lotus. It is when wisdom is finally able to pass all the way down to the earth and we can walk purposefully and wisely on whatever path life has carved out for us. It is the greatest of accomplishments to be able to have whatever fuels the wisdom of our heart find it s way into our feet. To this feet walk. They navigate. They never run unless they have to. They like to be massaged, sure, why not?? They like to dance a little. And the y like to be put into water to splash around. The like to feel the earth beneath them. They like to sit by the fire. And they like to take us places that bring us new experiences. They also like to be still. How much work to we ask our feet to do in our lifetime? How much weight do we put upon them? How often do we stop to love our feet? About as often as we stop to love the earth beneath them no?
